Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical and plumbing repairs preferred.

Job Overview:

The RWJBH performs a wide variety of maintenance duties in and around the buildings of the Medical Center complex. Occasionally assists tradesmen and other workmen in completing tasks. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma and two to three years relevant work experience.

Scheduling Requirements

  • 7:00am 3:30pm
  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Assists electricians with troubleshooting and necessary repairs, as well as installation of new electrical service. Performs routine electrical repairs of existing light fixtures, receptacles, motors, etc.

  • Assists tradesman or leadman with special projects as needed.

  • Installs and repairs locks, doors, windows and screens. Performs general carpentry work.
  • Performs painting and plastering work as required.

  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on non-clinical hospital equipment, and inspects the equipment for safety. Repairs or replaces broken or worn parts as required.

  • Repairs and installs plumbing fixtures, sinks, toilets, and drain lines. Cleans and rebuilds traps and strainers.

  • Repairs refrigeration, air conditioning and heating equipment with supervision.

  • Repairs, maintains, and installs typical plant equipment such as pumps, motors, air compressors, valves, etc.

  • Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service.
