We are looking for a Mainframe Software Engineer for a permanent contract in Lyon (69).

What you will do
  • Design, code, test, and implement high-quality mainframe software solutions, leveraging your expertise in mainframe technologies, programming languages, and systems.
  • Develop mainframe applications based on business requirements and technical specifications, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and tune mainframe systems to resolve complex technical issues, utilizing strong analytical skills.
  • Stay updated with emerging mainframe technologies and trends, and recommend their integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless system integration.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and provide training/support on mainframe technologies.
Who are you?
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in mainframe programming languages and tools (e.g., COBOL, JCL, VSAM, ISPF, SDSF, MQ, IMS DB/DC, OPCE).
  • Knowledge of mainframe databases and data management systems such as DB2, Assembler, CICS.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proactive in upskilling and reskilling.
  • Professional certifications in mainframe technologies are a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is a plus.
  • Experience in modernizing legacy mainframe environments.
