We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Administrator with extensive experience in managing DB2 databases on mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for integrating DB2 within the existing IT infrastructure. Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher) is a must.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Administer and maintain IBM mainframe environments, with a focus on DB2 subsystem stability, availability, and performance.
• Monitor system health and database performance using mainframe diagnostic tools; execute tuning tasks to optimise CPU usage and throughput.
• Perform installation, configuration, and version upgrades of DB2 on z / OS, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.
• Troubleshoot and provide support for all DB2-related issues in production.
• Perform backup and recovery processes while creating disaster recovery plans.
• Implement security measures to maintain data protection policies.
• Collaborate closely with other IT departments for seamless integration.
• Assist in planning and implementing upgrades and patches for DB2.
• Support documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices.

KEY REQUIREMENTS :

• Several years of experience in managing mainframe systems (e.g., IBM z / OS).
• Experience in monitoring and maintaining mainframe environments.
• In-depth knowledge of database optimisation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with DB2 tools (e.g., DB2 Performance Monitor, DB2 Utilities, z / OS-DB2 Command Utilities).
• Knowledge of security administration and implementation of DB2-based security policies.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with IT departments.
• Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and transform them into actionable solutions.
• Important : German language skills (at least B2) .

NICE TO HAVE :

• Familiarity with cloud-based DB2 solutions.
• Experience with performance benchmarking and tuning techniques.
