Job Description: HR Development Coordinator at CIMMYT

The organization is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of HR Development Coordinator. The successful candidate will support the Deputy Director of HR in coordinating international HR activities and development projects globally within the Human Resources Unit.

The position is based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, State of Mexico, near Mexico City.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including objectives, scope, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and success criteria, coordinating with HR team members and other departments as needed.
  2. Identify potential risks and challenges associated with HR projects and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and resolve issues proactively to minimize disruptions.
  3. Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee experience through project initiatives. Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  4. Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to measure project performance, track key metrics, and evaluate outcomes. Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  5. Support continuous improvement initiatives in HR operations for Locally Recruited Staff in regional offices, representing HR management where necessary (covering recruitment, training, performance management, talent management, Compensation & Benefits, Wellness, OHS, Gender and Diversity, HR communication, Global Mobility, and IRS).
  6. Assist in staffing plans for regional offices, including internal mobility and recruitment needs.
  7. Contribute to the development and review of IT solutions such as HR Dynamics 365 and automation tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
  8. Advise HR leadership to ensure policies and practices remain compliant with legal standards. Conduct regular assessments with HR representatives in regional offices to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  9. Support the review and updating of succession plans to adapt to organizational needs and talent pipelines.
  10. Assist in conducting risk assessments and planning safety measures, including training and emergency procedures in collaboration with the Occupational Health & Safety team.
  11. Support initiatives from Medical Services in regional offices, monitoring progress and delivery.
  12. Help develop capacity-building materials and programs for internal promotion within CIMMYT and with external partners and students.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, human resources, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in an international environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English at CEFR level C1 or higher (an English test will be administered).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
