The proposed theme aligns with the “Life Sciences” priority and the “Health and Environment” societal challenge of the CNRS Contract of Objectives and Performance (COP 2019-2021 and upcoming COMP). With increasing life expectancy, neurodegenerative diseases are rising, impacting patient care. The project focuses on understanding brain diseases, characterizing molecular mechanisms, and discovering therapeutic targets.
Key objectives include developing innovative pharmacological molecules and delivery systems (theranostic platforms) to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), minimizing side effects, and enabling effective treatment of CNS diseases. The candidate will contribute to research on therapeutic targets for CNS disorders and molecule delivery to the brain, collaborating with industrial partners and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
The candidate will also be involved in teaching activities at the University of Aix-Marseille in biotechnologies and targeted therapy for brain pathologies. The CNRS promotes open science, aiming for accessible research outputs and data sharing, contributing to transparency and societal impact.
Research dissemination will include publications, patents, and software, alongside engagement with scientific communities, media, policymakers, and the public through various communication channels and events. The project emphasizes the societal role of science, aiming to inform public decisions and foster participatory science initiatives.
Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent; there are no restrictions on age or nationality. CNRS positions are accessible to people with disabilities, with accommodations as needed.
