The research work will be carried out under the dual supervision of Amaury Lambert (modeling) and Mélusine Boon-Falleur (behavioral sciences). The recruited person will work in their host laboratories (IBENS at ENS, CIRB at Collège de France, CRIS at Sciences Po).
Research Focus: Social tipping dynamics of climate action
The goal of this PhD is to understand and model how individuals make decisions in the face of novel knowledge on the sustainable behavior of others, based on psychological experiments, and to develop mathematical models of social tipping dynamics. These models will analyze social contagion, interventions like additional information, and inform climate communication strategies.
Responsibilities include reviewing literature, designing stochastic models, conducting behavioral experiments, analyzing data, studying mathematical properties of the models, and assessing the efficacy of social interventions.
