Job summary

Qualifications

• Recent law graduate or 0–2 years' experience in corporate law or M&A.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the placement of transactional risk insurance policies (W&I, tax liability, contingent risk).
• Reviewing M&A and transaction documentation to identify legal and commercial risks.
• Assisting in translating identified risks into insurance solutions with underwriters.
• Preparing policy summaries, client presentations, underwriting submissions and internal briefings.
• Liaising with clients, legal advisers, underwriters and other transaction advisers throughout the deal process.
• Assisting with negotiation of policy terms and responding to underwriting queries.
• Conducting research into the transactional risk insurance market, legal developments and M&A trends.
• Maintaining accurate records of quotes, policies and transaction documentation.
• Contributing to development of the team's client relationships, market knowledge and business strategy.

We are working with a leading specialist advisory and insurance brokerage firm with an international presence and a strong reputation in the transactional risk market. As part of the continued growth of their Paris team, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Law Graduate to join the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law graduate or junior professional looking to develop a career at the intersection of M&A, law, corporate transactions and insurance. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative team, gaining exposure to complex transactions and working closely with leading legal, financial and corporate advisers.

About the role

As an Analyst within the Transactional Risk team, you will support the structuring and placement of transactional risk solutions for clients involved in M&A transactions. You will work closely with senior team members to analyse transaction documentation, identify key risks and help negotiate appropriate insurance solutions with underwriters.

The role will provide significant exposure to live M&A transactions and a broad range of stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to develop direct relationships with clients and work alongside lawyers, private equity investors, corporate finance advisers, banks, accountants and insurance underwriters.

• Supporting the placement of transactional risk insurance policies, including Warranty & Indemnity (W&I), tax liability and contingent risk insurance.
• Reviewing and analysing M&A and transaction documentation to identify key legal and commercial risks.
• Supporting senior team members in translating identified risks into appropriate insurance solutions.
• Preparing policy summaries, client presentations, underwriting submissions and internal briefings.
• Liaising with clients, legal advisers, underwriters and other transaction advisers throughout the deal process.

About you

• Recent Law Graduate or 0–2 years' professional experience, ideally with exposure to corporate law, M&A, private equity or commercial transactions.

• Genuine interest in M&A, corporate transactions and the intersection between legal risk and financial solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in French and English, with strong professional proficiency in both.
• Commercially minded, curious and keen to understand the wider business implications of legal issues.
• Confident and personable, with an ability to build relationships with clients and professional advisers.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced transaction environment.
