Job summary

GTT in France seeks a LNG chief mate analyst to monitor ship operations and optimize safety and costs. The on-site role is based in Yvelines, working with LNG experts to provide guidance to Masters, operators and shore teams.

Qualified Chief Officer with LNG carrier experience reviews voyage plans, LNG containment and terminal requirements to deliver clear recommendations for safer, more efficient voyages.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chief Officer with LNG carrier or gas carrier experience.
• Experience in passage planning, route monitoring and weather assessment.
• Ability to translate data into actionable guidance for Masters and shore teams.

Responsibilities

• Support LNG carrier Masters before departure, during passages and ahead of port calls with guidance on navigation, weather routing, speed, ETA and LNG management constraints.
• Collaborate with LNG experts to provide operational recommendations.
• Review voyage, vessel, cargo, charter party, port schedules and SatCom data 72 to 24 hours before departure.
• Provide meteorological and oceanographic analysis and routing recommendations for heavy weather and port windows.
• Support onboard LNG management including cargo containment, boil-off gas, tank pressure and terminal requirements.
• Maintain regular contact with Masters and stakeholders on voyage performance, routing decisions and delays.
• Improve voyage safety and performance by integrating navigation, weather and cargo management.
• Analyze forecasts and post-voyage data to prepare reports and support digital tools and procedures.
