Job Description
- The Legal Officer will support the Legal & Compliance department to ensure the Bank's operations adhere to legal and internal guidelines. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, agreements, and business projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Conduct regulatory watch and product assessments, focusing on regulatory risk and data protection aspects
- Review and update material outsourcing and service arrangements
- Prepare and maintain legal and compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and statutory reports
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including group entities, service providers, legal advisers, and supervisory authorities
- Assist with the resolution of regulatory complaints and litigation
Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of EU financial regulations, including MiFID, AML, banking privacy, and data protection legislation in Luxembourg
- Knowledge of outsourcing rules, ICT, and digital assets
- Sound understanding of financial markets, including complex products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify root causes and recommend process improvements
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with ability to prepare and present data effectively
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Fluent in both written and spoken English; French or German considered an advantage
