Overview

missions : Our Legal Department based in Paris is looking for a Legal Director for the Europe / Middle East / Africa region with at least 12 years of experience and strong management skills. The Legal Director will lead a team of 7 to 8 lawyers based in Paris and Libourne (at the head office in Gironde) and will also be called upon to directly manage complex cases such as litigation and the negotiation of licensing and business development agreements. The team is supported by 2 / 3 interns on a permanent basis (law student profiles). The work mainly focuses on : negotiating transactions and drafting a wide variety of contracts with significant commercial law, intellectual property, and competition law implications, managing any related litigation, providing advice.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 7 to 8 lawyers in Paris and Libourne; oversee interns.
  • Directly manage complex cases including litigation and licensing/business development agreements negotiations.
  • Negotiate transactions and draft contracts with significant commercial, IP, and competition law considerations.
  • Provide legal advice across Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Qualifications
  • Master\'s degree in business law / competition law and distribution and/or intellectual property law.
  • At least 12 years\' experience in a similar role in an international environment or law firm.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Experience in negotiating and drafting industrial property rights licenses (patents, technologies, know-how); experience in managing litigation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; strong cross-cultural management skills.
  • Comfortable with new technologies and digital tools in the context of digital transformation (CLM & Artificial Intelligence).
  • Dynamic, precise, highly organized, responsive, initiative-taking, and with excellent interpersonal skills.
