Job Description

The Legal Counsel works at Accor’s headquarters in the Paris Suburban Area (Issy les Moulineaux). Within a team of 8 lawyers, under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel – Tech, the Legal Counsel handles legal issues related to innovative technologies and the digital transformation of the Group. The ideal candidate has experience in transactional matters including product development, contract drafting and negotiation, structuring innovation projects, and managing strategic tech partnerships.

The Group is undergoing major changes in core business applications for both corporate and hotel needs, engaging in negotiations with strategic service providers. The digital transformation is a key ambition for Accor, involving the development of digital products and experiences, innovative tools, and platforms. The Legal Counsel must be agile, adaptable, and capable of critical thinking, with an ability to approach commercial issues holistically with stakeholders across the organization.

Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel – Tech, the responsibilities include:

  • Providing support for digitalization projects, including AI and platform regulations, and innovative initiatives.
  • Supporting deployment of digital and IT solutions for corporate and hotel use by negotiating contracts and managing relationships with digital service providers.
  • Supporting and enabling effective deployment of digital strategies and policies.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to draft and update contract templates and processes in line with regulatory changes and group policies.
  • Promoting the use of digital tools and contract management systems through presentations and training sessions.

Additional tasks may include other activities necessary to protect the Group’s reputation and assets.

Qualifications
  • Master of Law degree, ideally with a double cursus.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a corporate legal department or international law firm.
  • Experience with IT, cybersecurity, data protection, e-commerce, platform regulation, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders in an international, multicultural environment.
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong leadership, agility, adaptability, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and make impactful recommendations.
  • Business acumen and organizational skills, with project management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of compliance matters such as anti-corruption, sanctions, vigilance duties, and antitrust laws.
  • Curiosity and ability to understand and implement sector-specific regulations.
  • Technologically savvy with a good understanding of information systems and advanced technologies.
