Job Description

The Legal Counsel works at Accor’s headquarters in the Paris Suburban Area (Issy les Moulineaux). Within a team of 8 lawyers, under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel – Tech, the Legal Counsel handles legal issues related to innovative technologies and the digitalization of the Group. The role requires experience in transactional matters such as product development, contract drafting and negotiation, structuring innovation projects, and managing strategic tech partnerships.

The Group is undergoing major changes in its core business applications for both corporate and hotel needs, engaging in negotiations with strategic service providers. Digital transformation is a key ambition, involving the development of digital products, platforms, and assets. The Legal Counsel must be agile, adaptable, and capable of critical thinking, with a holistic approach to commercial issues involving all stakeholders (hotels, service providers, etc.).

Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel – Tech, the responsibilities include:

  • Supporting digitalization projects, including AI and platform regulations,
  • Supporting deployment of digital and IT solutions through contract negotiations and legal support in relationships with service providers,
  • Supporting the deployment of digital strategies and policies,
  • Drafting and updating contract templates and processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders,
  • Promoting the use of digital tools and templates, including training and presentations.

Any other tasks deemed necessary to protect the Group’s reputation and assets.

Qualifications
  • Master of Law degree, preferably with a double cursus
  • 6-8 years of experience in a corporate or international law firm setting
  • Experience in IT, cybersecurity, data protection, e-commerce, platform regulations, AI, and emerging technologies
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders in an international environment
  • Fluent English
  • Leadership skills: agility, adaptability, decision-making, critical thinking
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to simplify and make impactful arguments
  • Business acumen
  • Organizational skills, project management capabilities
  • Knowledge of compliance matters such as anti-corruption, sanctions, vigilance, and antitrust law
  • Curiosity and ability to understand sector regulations
  • Technologically savvy, good understanding of information systems and advanced technologies
