As Senior Legal Counsel at AniCura in France, you will play a crucial role in shaping our legal strategy and ensuring legal support to our business as we deliver exceptional veterinary care. AniCura is a family of animal hospitals and clinics specializing in veterinary care for companion animals, attended by passionate veterinary professionals. Since 2018, AniCura has been part of Mars Veterinary Health. We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support our operations in France, primarily managed from Lyon. Reporting to the Head of Legal Affairs, you will operate with autonomy, providing legal support with a commercial and solution-oriented approach, guiding the business through complex legal landscapes. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Europe and globally, including colleagues in the AniCura Legal Function and Mars Legal Department.

Responsibilities include:

• Representing AniCura’s interests in governance and corporate law activities related to French clinic entities, including board and shareholder meetings, and shareholdings redistribution.
• Providing legal support for M&A projects, including due diligence, transaction documentation, and post-closing integration, in collaboration with external counsel.
• Drafting and reviewing veterinary practice agreements, lease agreements, and delivering legal and compliance training.
• Managing external counsel for quality and cost efficiency.

Requirements:

• French law degree (M or equivalent).
• 7+ years of experience in private practice or senior in-house legal roles, preferably in healthcare or veterinary sectors.
• Strong expertise in French corporate law and M&A.
• Proficiency in French and English is mandatory; additional European languages are a plus.
