Mission Statement
  • Responsibility for cybersecurity legal aspects of the Hitachi Energy business in Europe, including monitoring, reviewing, and supporting compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding cybersecurity.
  • Guiding and counseling stakeholders to ensure understanding and coordination of legal measures concerning cybersecurity matters.
  • Advising and representing Hitachi Energy’s interests on legal aspects of cybersecurity, including participation in incident and vulnerability response teams.
  • Collaborating with regional, national, and global legal and cybersecurity teams within Hitachi Energy.
  • While data privacy experience is beneficial, this role focuses primarily on cybersecurity legal issues.
In this role, you will
  • Serve as legal counsel for cybersecurity in Europe.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to align with business goals and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Raise awareness and influence commitment to cybersecurity legal challenges.
  • Monitor and review relevant laws and policies, collaborating with outside counsel when needed.
  • Manage legal complexities in a dynamic, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective cybersecurity legal strategies, standards, and policies.
  • Participate in incident response teams, providing legal guidance during cybersecurity incidents.
  • Advise on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating cybersecurity provisions in commercial contracts.
  • Support cybersecurity audits from a legal perspective.
  • Manage relationships with outside legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with global cybersecurity and legal teams.
  • Balance internal requirements and build consensus across functions.
  • Support various projects within the legal and cybersecurity teams.
