Senior Legal Counsel – Construction Law

Paris (Hybrid) – Other locations across France considered

eNL Legal is proud to be partnering with a pioneering global energy company that has been innovating in the renewable sector for over 40 years. With sustainability at its core and a bold vision for the global energy transition, this is an organisation that doesn’t just keep up with change, it drives it.

We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to step into a high-impact role supporting French operations as part of an integrated, pan-European legal team. Based in France, you’ll be the go-to legal advisor for all construction related matters in a rapidly growing market, balancing autonomy with international collaboration at the highest level.

This role offers you a front-row seat to strategic decision-making, large-scale renewable infrastructure projects, and complex commercial negotiations that truly make a difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serve as the key legal advisor to French business units on a range of commercial and contractual issues
  • Lead contract strategy and negotiations including TSA, EPC and bespoke construction agreements
  • Draft, review and optimise legal documents with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
  • Partner with stakeholders across sales, procurement, project management and executive leadership
  • Develop and implement dispute resolution strategies, including claims and litigation coordination
  • Keep abreast of evolving regulations and align business practices with local and global compliance policies
  • Promote legal risk awareness and best practices across teams in France and the wider region

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in French Law and solid grounding in construction law
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
  • A career that spans both law firms and in-house roles, ideally in construction, engineering, or renewable energy
  • Strong command of contract forms such as FIDIC
  • Commercially minded and confident navigating the legal, financial and operational sides of complex projects

This is more than a legal position, it’s a career defining opportunity to be part of the global energy transformation. With a presence in 35+ countries, our client is building the infrastructure for a cleaner, more resilient future.

If you’re ready to put your legal expertise to work on meaningful projects that span borders and shape industries, this role could be exactly what you’re looking for.
