Nexway is a global e-commerce provider with French origins and an eleven-year history. The company is actively developing its modern technological platform and is looking for open and proactive people to join its team in Nîmes.
Job Purpose
As part of a 6 to 18 months activity reinforcement, as Junior Legal Counsel, you will ensure the company's legal and regulatory compliance by providing expert advice and support on legal and data privacy issues, including GDPR. You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement efficient processes, draft and negotiate compliant contracts while protecting the company's interests.
Principal Accountabilities / Critical tasks :
- General Legal Support: Provide expert guidance and support on all legal matters to various internal stakeholders, ensuring that the company’s interests are protected and compliance with applicable laws is maintained;
- Process Implementation: Collaborate with management to implement new legal processes that enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with updated regulatory standards;
- GDPR Compliance: Act as the primary resource for GDPR-related matters. Support the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the company’s GDPR compliance program;
- Contractual Compliance: Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPA), Cross-Border Data Transfer Clauses (CCT), and all GDPR-related articles in contracts to ensure data privacy compliance;
- GDPR Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert on GDPR, advising internal teams and providing guidance on data privacy topics to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
Qualification Requirements
- Master’s degree in law (Master 2 Droit des Affaires / DJCE / Magistère / Droit du Numérique)
- 2+ years in IT contract law and commercial law ideally in the payment’s ecosystem or fintech
- Experience in regulatory and GDPR topics is a plus
- Solid knowledge of IT contract law and commercial law, data privacy regulation
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent French and English (written and oral)
