The Institute of Urban Planning and Alpine Geography (IUGA) is a faculty of Université Grenoble Alpes. It offers undergraduate, professional bachelor's, and master's degrees, and also hosts PhD students.
Between 700 and 800 students are enrolled from the first year of the undergraduate program (L1) to the final year of the master's degree (M2), all trained for careers in territorial development and planning.
IUGA is characterized by strong pedagogical support and an emphasis on early professionalization.
The institute is located in the southern part of Grenoble and benefits from all essential services on-site or in its immediate surroundings.
Pacte laboratory is a social science laboratory, and a research unit of CNRS, Sciences Po Grenoble-UGA and Université Grenoble-Alpes. It is one of France's leading social science laboratories, with an interdisciplinary project organized into five teams.
As a full-time teaching and research faculty member, You will teach core courses in Spatial Planning and Territorial Development, primarily within the undergraduate program in Geography and Planning, both in the common curriculum and in the "Planning and Territorial Development" track.
You will also teach within the "Engineering for Territorial Development and Transition" track of the Master's program in Urban Planning and Development.
You will co-supervise one or more practical workshops at the undergraduate or master's level, and may also contribute to methodological teaching units (qualitative and/or quantitative methods, survey techniques, etc.).
Depending on pedagogical needs, you may teach pre-existing tutorials (TD) or be responsible for designing and delivering full teaching units (UE).
You will take part in the academic life of the Faculty (meetings, pedagogical coordination, etc.) and will be provided with an office and a workstation at the Cité des Territoires.
Your research activities will be affiliated with the Pacte research laboratory.
Applicants are expected to have strong disciplinary and/or thematic expertise in the fields of spatial planning, territorial development, territorial systems, and local actors.
From a methodological perspective, you should be able to guide students-particularly in tutorials-in acquiring methodological knowledge, techniques, and analytical tools related to both quantitative and/or qualitative approaches.
You should also be able to adapt your teaching methods to different formats: lectures, tutorials (TD), and project-based workshops.
