As part of its development in teaching CentraleSupélec isopening a teaching-focused Lecturer position in Computer Science, to be hostedby the Computer Science Department.
The Computer Science Departmentcontributes to teaching across the full breadth of the discipline, in allCentraleSupélec programmes as well as in Master's programmes of UniversitéParis-Saclay and in continuing education.
The selected candidate will join theComputer Science Department of CentraleSupélec and will primarily teach on theBITS Pilani Bachelor programme in Computer Science and AI at CentraleSupélec.They may also teach in the other Bachelor programmes, the engineering programmeand the Master programmes in which the School participates. Their main missionwill be to ensure the consistency of the Computer Science curriculum of theBachelor of Engineering, delivered in partnership with BITS Pilani (India) and theCity University of Hong Kong, both partnerships starting in September 2027, andto act as the reference point for the curriculum with all stakeholders. Theteaching load corresponds to a full-time position, i.e. 384 equivalent tutorialhours (HETD) per year, spread over the academic year.
The selected candidate will beresponsible for designing and deploying several third-year courses of the BITSBachelor in “Computer Science and AI”: networking, compilers, systemsarchitecture. They will deliver all of these courses in plenary sessions andcorresponding practical classes. They will build and lead a team of instructorsto implement the various teaching activities. They will define and update thelearning outcomes of these courses, the teaching methods to be deployed, andproduce the corresponding teaching materials. They will also teach othercourses in computer science from other programs (in other bachelors and/ormasters and/or the CentraleSupélec engineering programme). They mustalsobe able to collaborate with CentraleSupélec’s corporate partners. Bachelorteaching is delivered exclusively in English.
The selected candidate mustdemonstrate openness and contribute to varied teaching teams. To ensureteaching quality and consistency within the Computer Science Department, theywill communicate with the Head of Department according to the arrangements theydefine, and may rely on the support of colleagues and the team in place. Beyondthe Computer Science programme, they will contribute to defining theexpectations and topics covered in the engineering science activities of theBachelor programme.
The selected candidate will join amulti-disciplinary team dedicated to the success of the international Bachelorprogrammes, working under the academic coordination of the Senior Professorleading the Bachelor Computer Science track, and in close collaboration withthe Director of the Computer Science Department. They will take part incollective decisions on the evolution of the programme, mentor juniorinstructors and teaching assistants, and contribute to a unified teachingculture across partners (France, India, Hong Kong).
