Dicio Conflatio seeks a hands-on engineer to lead the vacuum system for an early-stage fusion prototype. You will translate scientific requirements into a complete vacuum chamber and gas-injection architecture, design layouts in SolidWorks, and coordinate cryogenic integration.

You will supervise assembly, establish LN2 safety procedures, and collaborate with scientists and engineers to advance conceptual design and commissioning in a dynamic, high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in the design of large or complex vacuum systems.
• Ability to independently design a complete vacuum chamber and pumping architecture from scientific specifications.
• Excellent CAD skills (SolidWorks mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of vacuum technologies (HV/UHV) and cryogenic constraints.
• Experience managing procurement and technical follow-up with suppliers.
• Practical mindset with experience supervising or performing mechanical assembly.

Responsabilités

• Act as lead engineer for the vacuum system of the experimental setup.
• Translate scientific requirements into a complete vacuum chamber and system design.
• Design the vacuum chamber layout using CAD (SolidWorks).
• Design and implement the gas injection system with multiple injection points.
• Specify, select, and order vacuum-related components and cryogenic equipment.
• Design and integrate cryogenic LN2 systems, storage, and transfers.
• Supervise or participate in the assembly and integration of vacuum and cryogenic systems.
• Establish safe operating procedures for liquid nitrogen handling.
• Coordinate with the scientific team and other engineers during system definition.
• Contribute to installation planning, commissioning, and early operation.
• Document design choices, procedures, and lessons learned.
