The Exploration Company seeks a Combustion Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize combustion devices for cryogenic rocket engines within its Future Project division. You will contribute to propulsion system CFD, injector design, and test data interpretation, working across thermo-mechanical and test engineering teams.

Requirements include a Master’s in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in combustion or reacting-flow engineering, with CFD using RANS/LES and Python data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in combustion, propulsion, or reacting-flow engineering.
  • Solid foundation in bi-liquid rocket combustion processes.
  • Strong background in reacting-flow CFD (e.g. ANSYS, OpenFOAM, Converge) using RANS and/or LES.
  • Strong scripting and data-analysis ability in Python or similar.
  • Exposure to liquid rocket injector CFD.
  • Experience with combustion of cryogenic propellants.
  • Familiarity with combustion instability, thermoacoustics, or uncertainty quantification is beneficial.
  • Experience supporting or participating in hot-fire test campaigns is beneficial.

Responsabilités

  • Provide support to global combustor fluidic system development through theory and CFD.
  • Drive and/or contribute to injector design and optimisation against combustor requirements.
  • Define instrumentation for hot-fire testing and assist with data interpretation and CFD correlation.
  • Reduce and analyse hot-fire data to derive performance and combustion-stability metrics.
  • Support design reviews with clear justification of analysis methods, assumptions, and margins.
