The Exploration Company in France seeks a talented Combustion Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize combustion devices for cryogenic rocket engines within our Future Project division.

Join a cross-disciplinary team tackling propulsion challenges, with primary responsibilities spanning CFD, injector design, hot-fire data analysis, and technical documentation to support robust engine development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in combustion, propulsion, or reacting-flow engineering.
• Solid foundation in bi-liquid rocket combustion processes.
• Strong background in reacting-flow CFD (ANSYS, OpenFOAM, Converge) using RANS and/or LES.
• Strong scripting and data-analysis ability in Python or similar.
• Exposure to liquid rocket injector CFD.
• Experience with combustion of cryogenic propellants.
• Familiarity with combustion instability, thermoacoustics, or uncertainty quantification.
• Experience supporting hot-fire test campaigns is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Provide support to global combustor fluidic system development through theory and CFD.
• Drive and/or contribute to injector design and optimisation against combustor requirements.
• Support instrumentation definition for hot-fire testing and data interpretation.
• Reduce and analyse hot-fire data to derive performance and combustion-stability metrics and maintain data tools.
• Support design reviews with clear technical justification of methods and margins.
