Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. Compared to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits can implement quantum error correction autonomously!

About the role:

Are you an experienced Software Engineer with a passion for leadership? We need someone to establish and guide a team focused on developing our core measurement stack and supporting physicists in building and operating Alice & Bob’s quantum computer.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a team of 6-8 members, including recruitment of new talent.
• Ensure designs are robust, scalable, and adhere to organizational standards.
• Establish best practices for code reviews, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and release management.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and leadership to set technical direction, evaluate new technologies, and define future vision.
• Regularly review and improve team processes.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven leadership and mentorship skills.
• Strong technical skills: Python, Docker, Airflow, CI/CD, Git, Jupyter.
• MSc in Computer Science.
• Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Additional preferences:

• Experience collaborating with physicists.
• Experience working with hardware.
• Experience releasing products to the market.
