Pasqal is seeking an Applications Engineer in Quantum Optimization to lead client projects from problem framing to delivery. You will leverage operations research and quantum computing to translate real-world problems into optimization formulations and evaluate solution strategies using analytical reasoning and numerical experimentation.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Combinatorial Optimization, Quantum Computing or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong background in combinatorial optimization and quantum computing.
• Ability to connect theory with practical quantum hardware applications.
• Solid programming and software engineering practices.

Responsabilités

• Lead quantum optimization client projects from early discussions to delivery.
• Support feasibility studies and scope definitions for future projects.
• Translate real-world problems into optimization formulations and evaluate strategies.
• Synthesize state-of-the-art literature to identify directions and feasible paths.
• Develop and scale quantum optimization solutions on Pasqal processors.
• Design benchmarking studies to assess classical limitations and quantum pathways.
• Collaborate with software engineers to build experiment pipelines and emulation backends.
• Work with neutral-atom hardware concepts and blueprints for client use-cases.
• Coordinate with R&D, engineering, academia and partners throughout projects.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and cross-cutting code/components.
