Mistral seeks a Lead Designer to elevate documentation as a first-class product. You will shape the UI/UX of docs, craft visuals, and collaborate with designers, PMs, engineers and support to make complex ideas clear and accessible.

This role is primarily based at our European offices in Paris or London, with opportunities for remote arrangements for FR/UK and occasional onboarding visits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design, focusing on documentation or developer tools.
• Curious about how people learn and use complex products.
• Systems thinker ensuring scalability and maintainability across a growing product suite.
• UI/UX savvy for intuitive documentation interfaces, layout and interaction.
• Visual communicator able to create or direct diagrams, graphics and visuals.
• Collaborative and proactive in cross-functional teams to drive projects forward.
• Experience with developer-facing documentation (APIs, SDKs, tutorials) and Markdown/Docusaurus; AI/ML concepts bonus.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design of Mistral’s documentation as a first-class product.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve clarity and usability in docs.
• Think holistically about the UI/UX of documentation: information architecture, navigation, search, demos.
• Design for all users: internal teams, external developers, enterprises and partners.
• Communicate complex concepts visually with diagrams, animations, or graphics.
• Advocate for user data and feedback to continuously improve learning experiences.
• Innovate with AI to enhance documentation and personalize learning paths.
