About the job
This is an exciting opportunity to participate in and guide the most significant UI and UX overhaul in the company's history, shaping the future direction of our products and user experiences. As a Lead Product Designer at Medius, you will strategically own and shape large portions of the user experience, collaborating closely with Group Product Managers (GPMs) and Engineering Managers (EMs) to define and execute our product roadmap. Operating within our unique Product Design framework, you'll ensure design consistency and quality across squads and product groups. You are a strategic thinker who deeply understands user-centered design principles and can translate complex requirements into cohesive user journeys. You're comfortable mentoring and coaching Product Designers, actively contributing to design initiatives, and setting the standard for design excellence. As part of a collaborative trio alongside GPMs and EMs, you'll influence key product decisions, fostering a unified and seamless experience for users.
What you will do:
- Strategic Design Leadership: Partner with GPMs and EMs to define and shape the product roadmap, owning large segments of the user experience.
- User Journey Ownership: Deeply understand and influence the user journey, aligning individual design solutions into a unified, cohesive experience.
- Mentorship & Team Growth: Actively mentor and coach Product Designers, promoting best practices and a culture of continuous learning and design excellence.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and User Researchers to ensure alignment and integration across product development.
- Design Advocacy: Champion user-centered design principles, involving stakeholders, visualizing design sequences, and promoting a holistic approach to product experiences.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly collaborate with other Design Leads and User Researchers to refine and elevate the overall product design strategy.
What we are looking for:
- 6+ years of experience in Product Design with proven experience leading strategic design initiatives.
- Strong expertise in UX/UI design, user-centered thinking, and service design principles.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating strategically with product and engineering leadership.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead teams, fostering professional growth and design excellence.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset, capable of aligning design initiatives with business goals and user needs.
- Proactive problem-solving approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive initiatives forward.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
Nice to have:
- Experience in FinTech, procurement, invoicing, or payments-related SaaS products.
- Familiarity with design systems, service design methodologies, and front-end development workflows.
- Interest or experience in AI and automation applied to SaaS products.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating within a dynamic, international environment.
