Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to supervise and grow our heat pump installations across the Amiens region, with field-based responsibilities and occasional remote work from Lille or home offices.

You will lead setting up the technical arm of the heat pump department in France, ensuring quality with partners, visiting sites, and solving on-site issues with a troubleshoot mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience installing and maintaining air source heat pump systems.
• Willing to travel around the Amiens region.
• Experienced plumbing and heating engineer with knowledge of heating system design and fault finding.
• Experience reviewing and challenging technical specifications and mechanical drawings.
• Clean French Driving licence.
• CAP/BEP or VAE level.
• RGE and Qualibat certifications.
• Technical English proficiency (B1).
• BR NF C18-510 electrical habilitation.

Responsibilities

• Set up the technical arm of our heat pump department in France.
• Ensure quality and proper functioning of installations carried out by local partners.
• Visit construction sites to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Provide technical support to resolve issues identified on site.
• Adopt a troubleshooter mindset to find solutions and resolve challenges.
• Utilise knowledge and experience of heat pump installations to ensure a seamless experience.
• Share low carbon advice with customers.
• Review and collaborate on technical specifications and mechanical drawings.
