Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking its first Lead Mechanical Engineer to supervise installations of air source heat pumps in France. The role covers the Amiens area and allows working from home or Lille office when required.

You will help establish the technical arm of our heat pump division, ensure installation quality by partners, and visit sites to keep operations smooth. You’ll troubleshoot, support on-site issues, and advise customers on low-carbon solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience installing and maintaining air source heat pump systems.
• Willing to travel around the Amiens region.
• Experienced plumbing and heating engineer with knowledge of heating system design and fault finding.
• Experience reviewing and challenging technical specifications & mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up the technical arm of our heat pump department in France.
• Ensure quality and proper functioning of installations by our local partners.
• Visit construction sites to ensure they are running smoothly.
• Provide on-site technical support to resolve any issues identified on site.
• Adopt a “troubleshooter” mindset to find solutions to challenges.
• Use knowledge of heat pump installations to ensure a seamless and outstanding experience.
• Share low carbon advice with our customers.
• Review and collaborate on technical specifications and mechanical drawings.
