Exotrail in Toulouse is seeking a Functional Avionics Architect to define, maintain, and validate the avionics architecture of our satellite platforms, ensuring robustness and traceability across systems.

You will collaborate with System, Software, AOCS and other teams, lead workshops, and drive trade-offs while aligning with ECSS standards. The role offers opportunities in a fast‑growing, multicultural space company with hybrid work options and a strong focus on in‑space mobility solutions.

Formación

• Several years of experience in avionics, systems engineering, functional architecture, or spacecraft development.
• Strong understanding of complex systems and interactions between avionics subsystems.
• Experience translating system requirements into functional architectures and technical solutions.
• Familiarity with verification, validation, integration, and testing activities.
• Experience working in aerospace, space, defense, or other high‑reliability industries.
• Previous experience in the space sector is a strong plus.

Responsabilidades

• Translate system requirements into avionics functions allocated to spacecraft equipment.
• Define and maintain the functional architecture baseline, including diagrams and allocations.
• Lead architecture workshops with System, Software, AOCS, DHS, IVV, and other teams.
• Ensure consistency between system requirements and avionics implementation.
• Define and maintain internal ICDs, data flows, synchronization, and timing.
• Drive technical trade-offs balancing performance, maturity, cost and constraints.
• Support architectural decisions and interface management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to IVV strategies, including HIL testing and simulations.
• Coordinate Work Package Leaders and report progress to stakeholders.
