Within Namirial, our KYC / Onboarding solutions utilize internally developed services to perform automated key information extraction, fraud detection, and other document processing tasks on various documents, including official IDs and supporting documents. These solutions employ advanced techniques, including AI-based image processing and natural language processing, to counter evolving fraud methods.

Role Description:

The Lead Data Scientist is a senior role responsible for leading the team that researches and maintains AI services used for key information extraction, fraud analysis, and document processing.

Reporting to the Team Lead Manager, the Lead Data Scientist works with a diverse team of research and software delivery professionals across different levels of seniority. They oversee initiatives from research to production, ensuring proper methodologies, tooling, and ongoing training on scientific and business advancements.

Collaborating with the Team Lead Manager, Product Owner, and other team leads, the Lead Data Scientist ensures that research efforts align with business objectives and contributes to roadmap planning.

Responsibilities:

• Stay updated with state-of-the-art research and share knowledge within the team.
• Prototype and develop machine learning/deep learning algorithms to meet business goals.
• Lead research projects from conception to industrialization in production.
• Ensure adherence to research methodologies, documentation, and best practices in software delivery.
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making and approach evaluation.
• Define tooling requirements and contribute to budget planning.
• Monitor and ensure model performance and quality in production, defining relevant metrics and KPIs.
• Coach and train team members, especially new hires and junior staff.
• Coordinate collaborations with third parties, including subcontractors and external researchers.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation and data processing regulations (GDPR, CNIL, IA Act).
