Description du poste

Data is at the core of SCOR's strategic plan Forward 2026 as one of its four enablers. The Data Platform team plays a key role in this initiative.

Responsible for the technological stack & platform, data delivery, overall data architecture, and enterprise data model, the Data Platform team supports the delivery of analytical use cases with expertise in data engineering, data modeling, and data architecture. The team also evolves & operates a state-of-the-art platform infrastructure stack, ensuring the global consistency of data across SCOR's information system.

The international and multicultural Data Platform team comprises various profiles (data engineering, data modeling, data and platform architecture) to make SCOR the reinsurer of tomorrow.

As part of this team, the Lead Data Architect oversees the evolution of data architecture at the enterprise level and ensures overall consistency of data architecture (data models, data flows, platform architecture) between SCOR's IT landscape and Data Platform. You are responsible for the overall data architecture design choices, ensuring that transactional and analytical implementations are aligned while serving their specific needs.

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Head of Data Platform, your mission as the Lead Data Architect for the Group will be to:

  • Oversee data architecture at the enterprise level and its implementation:
  • Ensure the integrity of the enterprise data model artifacts within SCOR's information system, across business units and regions, spearheading alignment and cohesion towards a Target Blueprint that implements SCOR's Data Strategy.
  • Drive the evolution of SCOR's data model to shape a state-of-the-art data mesh, ensuring effective implementation for transactional and analytical use cases connecting different company domains.
  • Maintain oversight through rigorous discovery and documentation of data flows inwards and outwards of the Data Platform to ensure governance and maximize effectiveness.

Additional activities include:

  • Adhere to state-of-the-art practices (data-mesh architecture, gitflow, data quality standards, data privacy & governance policies).
  • Ensure technological watch on data architecture and platform solutions.

Qualifications

Required experience & competencies

  • At least 7 years of experience as a data engineer, data modeler, or data architect.
  • Mastery of modern data architecture techniques, especially Data-mesh approach implementations.
  • Excellent understanding of the data management lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of relevant data domains (Property & Casualty, Life & Health, etc.).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Understanding of modern data analytics & data science activities.
  • Knowledge of data quality principles, data governance, and data privacy.

Technical Skills include:

  • Strong knowledge of data architecture patterns, especially domain-driven design.
  • Proficiency in decisional data modeling (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault).
  • Good SQL and/or PySpark skills.
  • Knowledge of Palantir Foundry and/or Databricks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Behavioral & Management Skills include:

  • Strong analytical thinking, solution-oriented, proactive.
  • Ability to work in a matrix and international environment.
  • Rigorous, committed, curious, and a team leader capable of guiding experts.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
