As a global player and buyer of goods and services, European Procurement Organization (EPO) leverages technical excellence to develop best TCO solutions to secure ArcelorMittal’s supply chain.

Managing $28.5 billion spend worldwide, we provide efficient and reliable services to internal customers.

Industrial Services & Spare Parts account for 10% of this spend, present in 5 countries (Spain, Germany, France, Poland, Belgium).

About the role

Based in Avilés, the Lead Buyer manages procurement for Maintenance & Repairs services, playing a dual role:

- Local role (Alpha): Manage a team of Buyers in France for Cluster AM France, with regular travel to maintain relationships (Florange, Montataire, Desvres…)

- Transversal role (Beta): Collaborate with the cluster Lead User to identify benchmark activities within the hub for transfer across Europe (TCO, supplier panel, process management…)

Key Responsibilities

  • Alpha role responsibilities:
  • Deploy Health & Safety policies and procedures locally
  • Manage team activities, including daily management, GEDP process, salary reviews, and evaluations
  • Participate in HR processes like career committees and succession planning at the cluster level
  • Communicate with stakeholders within the cluster
  • Develop multi-year contract masterplans and annual project lists
  • Monitor project progress
  • Negotiate contracts and select suppliers
  • Manage validation and signature processes
  • Oversee spot order procurement, including BCOE collaboration
  • Handle complex user claims
  • Evaluate team efficiency
  • Alpha role participation:
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier panels
  • Inform users about contracts
  • Implement contract deployment plans
  • Drive EPO improvement projects
  • Participate in certification audits (ISO, safety, environment)

Your profile

Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain.

About 5 years of relevant procurement or engineering experience, including people management.

Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and comfort with numbers.

Good technical knowledge of contracts, systems, project management, and negotiation.

Technical background enabling discussions on technical topics and change management.

Leadership, communication skills, and an interest in innovative industry trends.

Results and customer-oriented, capable of working under deadlines.

Fluent in French and English; additional European languages are a plus.
