Mistral AI is seeking a Labour Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Legal team. Reporting to the Lead Labour & Employment lawyer, you will harmonize labour practices across the company's global footprint and advise HR and management on complex employment matters.

The ideal candidate has 4-6 years of experience, strong French labour law background, and exposure to US/UK jurisdictions. You will collaborate with local counsels worldwide to ensure compliant, consistent, and business-focused labour

Qualifications

• Legal Master’s degree in French Labour Law.
• 4–6 years of experience with strong French labour law exposure.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Labour Legal Counsel to join our Corporate Legal team. Reporting to our Lead Labour & Employment law, you will provide labour law expertise and play a pivotal role in harmonizing our labour law practices across Mistral AI’s global footprint.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience, including relevant experience in a multinational company, with a strong background in French labour law and a deep understanding of the labour challenges faced by a fast-growing worldwide company.

In this role, you will serve as the legal liaison for Mistral’s HR teams and collaborate with Legal teams and local external counsels worldwide to ensure compliance, consistency, and best practices in all labour-related matters.

1. French Labour Law Expertise

• Provide practical, hands‑on legal advice on individual and collective employee relationships, working closely with HR to implement solutions ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

• Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, and advise on employment lifecycle, ensuring alignment with French legal requirements and Mistral AI’s global policies

• Advise on collective representation matters, including CSE and associated employee representative bodies, ensuring constructive dialogue and legal compliance

1. Global Labour Law Compliance & Cross-border Compliance

• Actively collaborate with HR and local counsels to balance local legal requirements with operational efficiency, while respecting cultural and legal nuances

• Provide guidance on cross-border employment issues, including secondments, remote work, and international mobility, ensuring seamless integration with local requirements and evolving workforce needs

• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments in labour law across key jurisdictions (France, USA, UK, Singapore, etc.) and proactively adapt internal processes

Qualifications and skills

• Legal Master’s degree (Master’s in French Labour Law). Additional certifications in international labour law are a plus.

• A minimum of 4-6 years experience, with strong experience in French labour law (individual and collective relationships) and good experience/exposure to other jurisdictions, ideally US and UK

• International mindset: Experience working in a multicultural environment and coordinating with teams across multiple jurisdictions.

• Proven expertise in:

  • Handling legal aspects of employees relations

  • Drafting and negotiating employment contracts and related contracts

  • Managing legals aspects of the employee collective representation

• Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to navigate labour law issues and provide pragmatic, business-oriented solutions.

• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication ; ability to communicate legal advice and present legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

• Adaptability: Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

• Ethical awareness: Commitment to promoting a fair, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
