A healthcare provider is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist in St. Paul, responsible for processing diagnostic samples and conducting tests. Candidates must have an accredited MLT program and registration with the CMLTA. The role offers a temporary full-time position with various shifts and a competitive salary ranging from $35.45 to $46.69.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have good organizational skills and the ability to assume responsibility. Ability to operate technical instruments and equipment daily and assisting with equipment maintenance. Participation in training of new staff. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and ability to work independently. Performing all required Quality Control procedures, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Investigating and documenting Quality Control problems and following up with Charge Technologist. Following all established policies and procedures for performing and reporting various laboratory procedures using manual and automated processes. Troubleshooting and documenting technical problems and contacting service, as required. Must be able to represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional, and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Core lab experience within the last 2 years and phlebotomy experience. Laboratory Experience operating the following analyzers: XT3400 Chemistry analyzer, Access II, ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XN550, Clinitek Advantus, and experience with ID-MTS gel system for Transfusion Medicine. EPIC LIS experience preferred.
