A global life science company in Lyon is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct laboratory trials for R&D projects in cosmetics. Ideal candidates will have experience in cell biology and molecular techniques. A friendly, dynamic team awaits you, with opportunities for skill development and exciting projects.
Health and Personal Care (pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food) is one of our global business areas. In 2021, we established our Life Science Laboratory in Lyon, focusing on research and development in cosmetic raw materials. Our biological laboratory applies cell culture technology to determine the efficacy of active product ingredients, while our formulation laboratory facilitates research on functional ingredients.
To further strengthen our small, friendly, and effective team, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join us on our journey toward a sustainable future.
Your Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory trials for R&D projects (development and validation of methods and models according to experimental design).
Perform laboratory trials for application projects (formulation and efficacy tests of raw materials).
Apply and continuously improve established procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
Collect and analyze data from laboratory trials.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
Manage stock: reception, registration of materials, inventory checks.
Draft and review protocols and reports.
Technical Skills
Experience in cell biology: sterile techniques (hood), basic cell culture knowledge.
Knowledge of histology/immunohistochemistry.
Expertise in molecular biology:
Protein extraction from cells/tissues & Western Blot (and Dot Blot).
RNA extraction from cells/tissues & RT-qPCR.
Advantageous: experience in one of the following fields:
Molecular biology
Histology / immunohistochemistry
3D skin models
General Skills
Strong interest in cosmetics.
Ability to write protocols and analyze results (Excel).
Proficiency in English (oral communication, reading, and writing of protocols/procedures).
At least 1 year of professional experience (junior profile accepted).
