Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for the General Laboratory. The role includes specimen collection, order entry, and ensuring high-quality patient care across in- and outpatients.

This full-time position involves varied shifts and responsibilities in a busy hospital laboratory. The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience and familiarity with HIS/LIS systems, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and specimen collection experience encouraged.
• Ability to follow safety and privacy policies.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Collect venous and capillary blood specimens for in- and outpatients.
• Transcribe orders and arrange tests as indicated; follow up on verbal orders.
• Operate HIS, LIS and reference lab systems as required; handle confidential results.
• Maintain neat, sanitary work areas and proper labeling, handling and disposal of specimens.
• Participate in Laboratory performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
