We are currently seeking a Sustainable Sourcing & Biodiversity Specialist to join our Sustainable Sourcing & Nature Initiatives teams within Kering’s Sustainability Programme team.

Your opportunity

As the Sustainable Sourcing & Biodiversity Specialist, you’ll be part of the Sustainability Programme Team comprised of a group of environmental experts at the Kering corporate who support the Group's brands. You’ll be one of the experts on sustainability solutions for sourcing and supply chains in the fashion, beauty, and hard luxury.

You’ll work in collaboration with the Group's brands and covers supply chain from raw material origins with a particular focus on key vegetable raw materials for the Group's brands’ products (e.g. cotton, linen, viscose, aromatics…) and raw materials from mining-based production (e.g. gold, precious stones, …).

You have solid knowledge of the interdependence between nature (biodiversity) and raw material sourcing, and the links between supply chains and environmental management, biodiversity conservation and/or agronomy or other natural sciences. You have experience in climate issues/solutions within supply chains as well as the interconnectedness between actions for nature, water cycles and climate (e.g. nature-based solutions, insetting, …).

You’re someone who enjoys working in teams and building networks. You have experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the scientific soundness of Kering’s approaches and you know how to support broad uptake of solutions/actions beyond Kering’s own sphere of operations. These partners include but are not restricted to environmental NGOs, Academic Institutions and UN Agencies.

How you will contribute

Contribute to the development of the Smart Sourcing program that is focused on the sustainable sourcing of key raw materials with the goal of reducing the environmental footprint of Kering and its Brands, increasing regenerative sourcing availability, while creating business opportunities

Act as Subject Matter Expert of Biodiversity and Nature Based Solution topics incl. assistance to the brands, external representation, management of the Biodiversity, Water & Carbon Strategies, internal tools & implementation

Carry out analytical reviews on best practice, standards, initiatives/projects for vegetable and mineral raw material production (agriculture, forestry, mining) to help keep Kering leading sustainable sourcing

Help design, implement and deploy smart sourcing solutions for key materials in collaboration with Brands and support Brands in their priority raw material projects and initiatives, including in cross-brand initiatives

Work closely with Materials Innovation Lab in Italy, Sustainable Innovation Lab for Watch & Jewelry (Switzerland) and others across Kering to support awareness and uptake of raw materials that aligns with Kering

Support the internal and external communication on smart sourcing include participation in key appropriate multi-stakeholder platforms & initiatives and industry organizations,

Manage projects and initiatives with external experts tracking results and budget along with communicating outcome across Kering and help identify new sourcing and improved traceability initiatives

Support initiatives and actions which help performance in compliance with such frameworks as CSRD, TNFD, SBTN, SBTi FLAG, ... and their piloting within Kering

Who you are

At least a Master’s Degree or University equivalent in agronomics, natural science, biology, ecology or similar, with a business background (double diploma in management is a plus),

At least 5 years working experience in sustainability in business and/or supply chain operations and management and/or research/analytics experience for climate, biodiversity and water,

Experience in complex organizations and supply chains, preferably in fashion but experience in other sectors is also relevant, notably beauty,

Experience in managing internal and external relationships with a range of stakeholders,

Experience in initiating and managing projects, with their timely delivery,

Excellent communication skills are a must, both written and oral, in English and French. Italian are a plus,

Ease in public speaking,

Capacity to work autonomously and proactively and adapt yourself within a multicultural environment.
