The Role

We are seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Legal and Compliance Team. Proficiency in English is essential. The successful candidate will collaborate with Sales, Product, Publishing, and Export teams to support revenue deals, product development, documentation, and vendor agreements. This role offers an opportunity for a proactive lawyer passionate about commercial contracting, legal policy development, and cross-functional collaboration. The Corporate Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel France & CEMEA in Paris and will be part of a team of three experienced in-house counsels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial/IP/IT agreements, including SaaS, software licenses, partnerships, marketing, influencer, reseller, and author agreements. Provide advice on IP matters.
2. Handle complex legal issues with minimal supervision.
3. Ensure compliance with company policies and collaborate with data privacy and security authorities.
4. Partner with support teams (sales, procurement, IT, marketing, publishing) to facilitate deal closures and process improvements.
5. Participate in legal, cross-functional, and cross-regional projects.

Candidate Profile

• Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
• Qualified French lawyer (current or former).
• 7-8 years of experience in an IP/IT team within a global law firm; in-house experience in a growing tech company is a plus.
• Strong transactional skills in drafting and negotiating complex IT, SaaS, licensing, and professional services agreements.
• Excellent legal and business judgment.
• Passion for partnering with sales teams and closing deals.
• Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Proactive, collaborative, and problem-solving mindset.
