The Role

We are seeking a corporate counsel to join our Legal and Compliance Team. Proficiency in English is required. The candidate will support sales, product development, documentation, and vendor agreements, influencing contract processes and policies, and engaging in various legal and cross-regional projects. The role reports to the General Counsel France & CEMEA in Paris, within a team of three experienced in-house counsels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial/IP/IT agreements including SaaS, licensing, partnerships, marketing, influencer, reseller, and author agreements, with advice on IP matters.
2. Handle complex legal issues independently.
3. Ensure compliance with company policies and coordinate with data privacy and security authorities.
4. Collaborate with sales, procurement, IT, marketing, and publishing teams to facilitate deal closures and process improvements.
5. Participate in legal, cross-functional, and cross-regional projects.

Candidate Profile

• Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
• Qualified French lawyer (current or former).
• 7-8+ years of experience in IP/IT at a global law firm, with relevant in-house experience in a tech company being a plus.
• Strong transactional skills in drafting and negotiating complex IT, SaaS, licensing, and professional services agreements.
• Excellent legal and business judgment.
• Passionate about partnering with sales and closing deals.
• Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Proactive, collaborative, and problem-solving mindset.
