Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space SAS in Toulouse seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to join a team delivering on‑board software for satellite missions, including Earth Observation and Telecommunications. You will help create standardized DHS modules and collaborate with internal partners across Europe.

This role provides exposure to the full software lifecycle in a regulated space environment, with opportunities for growth through extensive upskilling and international mobility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• Solid understanding of low-level software (Linux/Unix, computer architectures).
• Familiarity with the V-cycle development process.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
• Basic understanding of design methods (UML).
• Good communication skills and comfortable working in English.

Responsibilities

• Design & Develop: Participate in the detailed design and implementation of software code.
• Master Quality Standards: Learn to write test plans, execute procedures, and validate software in accordance with strict space standards.
• Deliver & Integrate: Support the delivery of modules and documentation to internal customers and assist in their integration into central satellite software.
• Solve Complex Problems: Contribute to anomaly investigations and troubleshoot high‑reliability systems.
• Innovate & Improve: Propose new design solutions, technologies, and ways to optimize the workflow.
• Verify that the SW requirements are correctly & completely implemented.
• Challenge and enlarge the customer needs to propose common and reusable solutions.
• Ensure the related support activity: failure report analysis, answer to technical requests.
• Improve the ways of working: bring new design solutions and technologies.
• Manage activities following the expected schedule, budget and quality.
• Participate to the improvement of the Department performance.
