We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Junior Sales Representative to join our Molecular Biology commercial team in France. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a scientific background and a passion for sales, customer engagement, and life sciences innovation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting sales growth across a defined territory by promoting a portfolio of molecular biology products and solutions to hospital, diagnostic laboratories, research, clinical, and pharmaceutical customers. Working closely with experienced sales colleagues and application specialists, the Junior Sales Representative will develop customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and contribute to achieving revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute territory plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Promote and sell Molecular Biology products, including reagents, kits, instruments, consumables, and workflow solutions.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, CROs, and research institutes.
- Ensure accurate and timely CRM updates and continuously improve the quality of customer data.
- Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline through prospecting, customer visits, virtual meetings, and scientific networking.
- Support the preparation and follow-up of quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with researchers, laboratory managers, principal investigators, and procurement stakeholders.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Deliver product presentations and basic scientific demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, and activities within the CRM system.
Market & Product Knowledge
- Develop a strong understanding of molecular biology technologies and workflows, including NGS, qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, gene expression analysis, and related applications.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
- Participate in scientific conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and customer events.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Field Application Specialists, Technical Support, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to ensure customer success.
- Support product launches and marketing initiatives within the French market.
- Share market intelligence and customer insights with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related scientific discipline.
- Candidates must have a background in biology with a working knowledge of molecular biology.
Experience required
- 0-3 years of experience in sales, business development, laboratory research, or customer-facing roles within life sciences.
- Previous experience in molecular biology laboratory techniques is highly desirable.
- Internship or commercial exposure within the life sciences industry is a plus.
Technical Knowledge
Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows
- PCR and qPCR
- Cloning and gene expression analysis
- Laboratory research techniques and workflows
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enjoys frequent travels, customer visits, networking, and building long-term relationships.
- Commercial mindset and interest in scientific sales.

Languages
- Fluent French (written and spoken).
- Professional level English. The position requires regular communication and collaboration with international suppliers through meetings, calls, and written correspondence.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel regularly within France (approximately 50-70%) and within Belgium and Switzerland (10%)
