We are hiring a Junior Project Manager.

Our mission is to streamline and accelerate the adoption of open source across the entire global enterprise technology market. Our customers embrace Canonical's approach to open source for complex projects on bare metal, cloud, and edge computing.

Our Project Managers are responsible for ensuring project success by owning, driving, communicating, and respectfully engaging all stakeholders, valuing integrity and accountability.

Within a portfolio of projects involving complex and evolving software technologies, customer and partner satisfaction depend on exceptional Project Managers who know how to respect and engage all stakeholders.

The role entails:

  1. Ensuring programs and projects are delivered within schedule, scope, cost, budget, and resource expectations.
  2. Supporting the identification of key technical and project risks and issues, and actively implementing mitigating actions.
  3. Maintaining a strong customer focus and working with all key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  4. Assisting in conducting regular status meetings and business reviews with customers.
  5. Supporting the delivery schedule of critical third-party deliverables.
  6. Advocating for appropriate technologies from Canonical's portfolio to customers.

What we are looking for in you

The successful candidate will have a solid academic background in science, software engineering, or information technology, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a solution-oriented mindset. You should be capable of 'making things happen' with a professional approach and effective negotiation skills. Demonstrated leadership during your academic career is also important.

  • Exceptional academic records from high school and university.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling alternative narrative.
  • Confidence to respectfully voice opinions, exchange feedback, and share ideas.
  • A track record of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results.
  • Passion for technology demonstrated through personal projects and initiatives.

  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English, with excellent presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks for company events.
