JOB DESCRIPTION
The candidate will develop research in Cybersecurity with skills in artificial intelligence. He/she will participate in the development of the School's training offer in the computer engineering diploma and in the Cybersecurity master's degree co-accredited with UNICAEN, by proposing a pedagogy favoring learning by practice. It will also help to develop industrial relations in this area.
TEACHING
ENSICAEN's Computer Science specialization trains engineers in software development and architecture. In addition to this core curriculum, students choose a major from among “e-Payment and Cybersecurity” or “Image, Sound and Artificial Intelligence”, which provide them with specific skills. Building on the CMA projects obtained in AI and cybersecurity, the plan is to increase the number of students in these 2 courses, and to create a new AI-Cyber major where artificial intelligence will be used to the benefit of cybersecurity. The person recruited will bring all his or her expertise to the creation of this new course. The school's overall pedagogical project is also to offer AI courses adapted to other disciplines (Materials-Chemistry) and (Electronics-Physics), and to strengthen the internationalization of its courses, notably by welcoming foreign students on academic mobility programs.
Predictive AI (event recognition, parameter generation, etc.) and generative AI (definition of synthetic bases, generalization of attack scenarios, etc.) have numerous applications in cybersecurity. GREYC's SAFE team focuses on three areas: biometrics (definition/assessment/protection of biometric systems), forensics (analysis of digital traces) and security models/architectures (intrusion detection). AI is a key component of these research areas.
Several scientific challenges are clearly identified: the explicability of decisions (understanding an attack, for example), the frugality of architectures (for simpler, more secure deployments), respect for the protection of personal data (the nature of biometric data requires the use of specific learning schemes), verification of security and privacy protection properties (avoiding poisoning attacks).
1 or 2 PhD grant and expenses for mission
Eligibility criteria
PhD, French or English and at least 3 years of experience after PhD
