The Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar) Secretariat in Gland, Switzerland invites applications for a Young Professional position under its Junior Professional Programme. This 12-month contract offers development in environmental policy, data management and international collaboration.

Responsibilities include Ramsar Site designation support, RSIS data entry, and preparation of documentation for conservation decisions within a small international team.

Qualifications

• University degree in a subject relevant to wetland conservation and sustainable use.
• Experience with international cooperation or multilateral environmental agreements is desirable.
• Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.

Responsabilités

• Ramsar Site designation and information updates.
• Enter data in RSIS for new designations and updates.
• Address conservation and sustainable use issues of wetlands.
• Promote and apply Ramsar information sheets guidelines and tools.
• Maintain contacts with governments, NGOs and partner organisations.
• Support regional meetings and standing committee activities.
• Compile and draft technical and policy information related to wetland conservation.
