Job Description

Eurofins is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the entry-level IT Service Desk Agent position. The primary responsibilities of this role will be a combination of phone, email and interactive chat support for local and nationwide customers from our laboratories.

You will assist customers with troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software and general network connectivity issues. This role will expose you to various tools and provide opportunities to learn high-level skills by supporting networking, active directory and security applications.

This position requires a high degree of emotional intelligence, empathy, technical expertise, and customer focus. You must be able to break down technical concepts into non-technical language and communicate them effectively to people of all IT skill levels.

The responsibilities of this position are varied on a day-to-day basis. Therefore, it is important to be open-minded and be able to deal with change.

Qualifications

Hard skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken French and English; basic understanding of ITIL concepts: Incident, Major Incident, Problem Record, Knowledge Article, Asset Management, Change Request, Service Portal, etc.
  • Ability to propose basic troubleshooting and repair solutions for Windows operating systems and local and cloud-based Microsoft products, including MS Office: O365, SCCM, Azure, Exchange; ability to understand several local laboratory application infrastructure settings from documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN and remote access, Citrix, thin clients, VMware or equivalent; beneficial familiarity with network connectivity issues, TCP/IP, firewalls, VLAN, Ethernet.

Soft skills:

  • Works well with other members of the global team, represents the team effectively when working remotely, and collaborates with laboratories around the world. A forward-thinking mindset that enhances productivity, efficiency and identifies process improvements.

Experience:

  • 6+ months of experience in a Help Desk/Service Desk support role or one year of call centre experience.
