- Identify trading opportunities in the European intraday electricity markets. Devise strategies and execute trades as authorized.
- Extract the maximum value out of EDF system across intraday markets.
- Undertake detailed fundamental analysis of European intraday markets and further develop tools and processes used by the team.
- Develop activity in terms of scope, scale and profitability.
Experience required
- Understand the European electrical transmission system and the interconnections between the various European grids.
- Strong understanding of EDF system optimisation process at DA stage
- Understand power plant operating principles.
- Fluent in English. A good working level in any other European languages (French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian) also appreciated.
Main responsibilities;
- Consistent with assigned trading responsibilities, conduct intraday electricity trading activities and day ahead system optimisation at weekends and holidays.
- Maintain real-time understanding of EDFT’s intraday physical electricity position on the European electricity markets.
- Understand fundamental price drivers in the European intraday electricity markets.
- Adhere to EDFT trading procedures including trade logistics systems.
- Communicate and coordinate intraday trading activities with rest of intraday team and other relevant persons.
- Any other duties as directed by manager.
