Junior Bioinformatics Analyst

NeoVentures is looking for a candidate to join our growing team of researchers in the role of Junior Bioinformatics Analyst. This role will support our bioinformatics efforts in analyzing Aptamarker (DNA sequence) data as it relates to proteomics applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the analysis of Aptamarker data that will be used for the creation of predictive algorithms for targeted proteins.
• Support analysis of client based Aptamarker applications
• Execute existing data analysis pipelines on Aptamarker sequence data sets including meta-analysis of oligonucleotide secondary structures.
• Maintain clear file management and coordination across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Provide output in summaries suitable for sharing externally.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or equivalent experience.
• Basic experience implementing NGS and -omics data processing pipelines.
• Basic knowledge of common bioinformatics file types and analysis tools.
• Proficiency in Python and Excel.
• A background in biology / genetics.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eligible to work in Europe.
• Fluency in English.

Assets

• Familiarity and proficiency generating effective data visualizations.
• Familiarity with shell scripting and basic command-line tools

Contract details

• Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract CDD
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Contract Length: 6 months, renewable
• Hours: Full-time - 35 hours / week
