This thesis will take place in the frame of the ULTIMOS project. The idea is to probe proton to electron mass ratio variations comparing radioastronomy microwave spectra (0.1-100 GHz range) to laboratory-determined energy intervals obtained from mid-infrared (MIR) frequency differences.
The accuracy objective is below 100 Hz, corresponding to 12..13 digit precision measurement in the MIR. It is achievable using Système-International referenced quantum cascade lasers, frequency combs and non-linear optics techniques.
The different MIR frequencies will be measured using the spectrometers of the three partners of the ULTIMOS consortium and analysed all together for the microwave interval determination and comparison with astrophysics data.
