Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research, and innovation.
The BRAIn team ( BRAIn Team ) at IMT Atlantique, part of the Mathematical and Electrical Engineering (MEE) department, focuses on AI, deep learning, and signal processing, with applications in neuroimaging, computer vision, and audio analysis. Their research explores few-shot learning, model compression, and geometric structures in data to improve AI adaptability. The MEE department bridges AI, data science, and embedded systems, tackling challenges in health, environment, and digital technology.
The BRAIn Team at IMT Atlantique is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in embedded systems to join our group. The position is quite open in terms of research topics, with opportunities to collaborate on audio processing, brain-computer interfaces (BCI), accelerometer-based analysis, computer vision, and natural language processing. The common thread across these topics is deep learning and its compression for efficient deployment on embedded platforms such as microcontrollers, embedded GPUs, FPGAs, or even ASICs.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in neural network optimization, model compression (quantization, pruning, knowledge distillation, etc.), and deployment on constrained hardware. The ideal candidate will take an active role in shaping their research within the team, finding synergies with ongoing projects, and exploring new directions.
If you have a solid background in embedded AI, enjoy both theoretical and applied research, and want to work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, we encourage you to apply!
Under the functional responsibility of the BRAIn Team lead and in collaboration with team members working on deep learning, signal processing, and embedded systems, the main tasks of the position are:
PhD obtained less than 3 years before date of hire in computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning, embedded systems, or a related field.
Start of the contract: September 2025
