A project already funded by ED MTCI identified the first synthetic «hit» of an alkaloid non-developable as an antimalarial, tazopsin. The proposed thesis aims at a continuity of therapeutic development of this simplified and accessible «hit», already showing an activity ten times higher than the natural product. The planned approach is a combinatorial 96-well «click» chemistry diversification, followed by a biological evaluation and physicochemical optimization of «early leads». The most promising compounds will be developed by the organization "Medecine for Malaria Venture".
