This project, funded by the ANR, is part of a joint research program between the group of Prof. Daniele Leonori (RWTH Aachen) and the group of Prof. Thomas Poisson (INSA Rouen Normandie) dedicated to the development of new photochemical reactions. The project intends to provide the synthetic organic chemist community with new versatile tools and new synthetic disconnections. This project will be carried out at INSA Rouen Normandie in the CARMeN Institute. The selected candidate will benefit from the excellent research environment of the CARMeN Institute and the Organic Chemistry department at RWTH Aachen, as research stays in Leonori’s group are expected.
The PhD student will be in charge of the experimental work, analysis (NMR…), and the writing of scientific reports. The PhD student will join and benefit from an international research environment and the excellent research facilities from the CARMeN Institute to conduct the project (photochemical setup, analytical facilities, flow machines, CV…).
The candidate should have a Master’s degree in organic chemistry or a French Engineer diploma. The candidate should have a strong background in organic synthesis, particularly in the development of new methodologies. Experience in electrochemical synthesis would be an asset (but not mandatory). We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated candidate with excellent communication skills in English (French is not mandatory).
